Basic Neuroimaging: A guide to the methods and their applications

by Dr. Peter Bloomfield, Dr. Sabrina Brigadoi, Dr. Gaia Rizzo & Dr. Mattia Veronese

Basic Neuroimaging is a textbook born out of passion. With this initiative we are looking to provide a comprehensive background to neuroimaging for students and professionals alike. In this text, we focus on a range of imaging modalities currently used in neurosciences. These include MRI, fMRI, PET, NIRS, EEG, TMS and MEG. After a brief historical description of each, we look at basics of the techniques starting from the data acquisition and finishing with the most successful example of applications. We go on to describe the different statistical approaches to broadly interrogate neuroimaging data and conclude with some representative case studies of neuroimaging in neuroscience and dementia research. This text has been produced in a purely voluntary fashion by a team of early career neuroimaging scientists with unique experiences.

Statistics without equations

by prof. Federico E Turkheimer & Dr. Mattia Veronese

In an era when calculations are entirely done by computers, we thought that the role of a statistical book would be to explain, in the plainest possible way, the ideas and concepts behind statistics and in particular what statistics is and what it does without indulging in mathematical equations. All material in the book was carefully crafted and is presented in graphical manner to ease reading and support studying and browsing. It suits equally undergraduate and graduate academic students but it shall be of interest also to those secondary school students aiming to further Math A levels.

Experimental Design and Practical Data Analysis in POSITRON EMISSION TOMOGRAPHY

by prof. Federico E Turkheimer, Dr. Mattia Veronese & Dr. Joel Dunn

The book contains all the basic notions of Positron Emission Tomography that span from physiology to radiochemistry, physics, math and statistics. All material was carefully crafted and is now presented in graphical manner to ease reading, studying and browsing. It suits equally undergraduate and graduate academic students but it shall be of interest to clinical fellows or professionals in the biomedical sector that use PET in their activity or develop technologies in the area.
